Episcopal Church of the Advent

Is a Piece of the Puzzle Missing?

How we live in the world, as individuals and as a community, matters greatly. Religion is not simply a private matter. However, all too often, Sunday morning worship does not connect to our lives the other six days of the week. The pieces don't fit together.

In our worship at Advent, when we offer God time and treasure and talent, we offer the complex web of relationships (economic, social, and emotional) that make us who we are. We ask God to transform and bless our offering and make it holy. We return to the world transformed. This connects our daily lives to God.

Sermons, education, and Bible study are ways we can learn about God's desires for us and for the world.

At Advent, we also take on active roles in ministries in our community, such as Episcopal City Mission, Habitat for Humanity, and Feed My People , both as individuals and as a church, that make real God's desire for others.
